From February 19th through March 20th, we're swimming through Pisces season. You can count on it being a gentle ride.
Also known as the sign of the Fish, Pisces is—you guessed it—a water sign. This means that, in general, they tend to embrace their softer, more emotional side.
For a Pisces, they are so compassionate and in tune with those around them that their wisdom tends to extend even beyond our physical plane. They are admirers of music, art, and even love itself.
But these delicate Fish are so open-hearted they often find themselves falling into the position of a victim. And they are so desperate to leave behind cruelty and negativity that they will abandon their uncomfortable reality at any cost.
Just because they're prone to fear, however, doesn't mean that there isn't a slice of horror meant just for them.
Here are six horror movies for Pisces to stream tonight!
Doctor Sleep
This sequel to the horror classic The Shining follows Dan Torrance (Ewan McGregor), who struggles with his psychic abilities. When he meets a young girl, Abra Stone (Kyliegh Curran), with similar gifts, the two form a unique friendship.
But young Abra is in trouble, caught in the sights of The True Knot, a group of psychic vampires that feed on gifted children for immortality. To protect her, Dan must return to the Overlook Hotel and confront his dark past.
Pisces are known to be the most intuitive of the zodiac, so much so that they are the most likely to have connections to the other side! This movie is a perfect nod to that special “shine.”
What We Do in the Shadows
Before there was the hit series, What We Do in the Shadows was an absolutely hilarious mockumentary film.
The story follows three vampires—Viago (Taika Waititi), Deacon (Jonny Brugh), and Vladislav (Jemaine Clement)—who are roommates, struggling to fit in with the modern-day world.
While this film pays homage to a lot of aspects of horror, it focuses on comedy. It's the perfect watch for a Pisces who might be a little too emotionally delicate for any hardcore scares.
A Nightmare on Elm Street
Who can resist a classic? In this 1984 film, teenage Nancy Thompson (Heather Langenkamp) and her friends become the targets of Freddy Krueger (Robert Englund), a knife-fingered killer who hunts through dreams.
The teens must uncover dark secrets from the past if they have any hope of beating Freddy. Of course, if they die in their dreams, they die in real life.
Pisces love to escape from reality, but this probably isn't what they were thinking. However, Pisces is known to rule the 12th house, which is connected to dreams and the subconscious.
If anyone is a match for Freddy, it's the sign of the Fish.
The Shape of Water
In the 1960s, a mute janitor, Sally Hawkins (Elisa Esposito) works at a top-secret research facility. One day she meets the strange, amphibious creature (Doug Jones) that is being held captive there, and he seems to be cure to her deep loneliness.
With both of them unable to speak, the two of them forge a special bond that soon turns romantic. But as Sally tries to free the creature, the lab proves just how dangerous it can be as it attempts to protect its assets.
As Pisces is the sign of the Fish, you had to see the water connection coming eventually. Beyond that, you'd be hard-pressed to find a more romance-driven sign than a Pisces, so an aquatic horror romance is just what they need!
The Final Girls
Max Cartwright (Taissa Farmiga) is grieving the loss of her mother, Amanda (Malin Akerman), who was an actress known for a cult classic 80s slasher movie, Camp Bloodbath. On the third anniversary of her mother's death, Max and her friends attend a special screening of the film.
When the theater catches fire, Max and her friends step through a hole in the screen to escape. The group doesn't find safety, however, as they're transported into the world of the slasher.
Stuck in a time loop, the teens must find some way to survive and escape the movie. But Max can't help but seize the chance to reunite with her mother, even if she's only her character in the movie, Nancy…
Pisces really hates when the past comes back to haunt them, which means this movie will keep them on the edge of their seats. But as the most sensitive sign of the zodiac, the emotional nature of this film will really speak to them.
The Lighthouse
In the 1890s, Ephraim Winslow (Robert Pattinson) takes on a short stint as a lighthouse keeper under the guidance of Thomas Wake (Willem Dafoe). It seems, however, that the difficult, isolating job threatens both of their sanity.
This surreal film will speak to the artistic soul of a Pisces. And sure, the seaside themes don't hurt…
