Leo season reigns supreme from July 23rd until August 22nd. But if you ask a Leo, every season belongs to them.
A vivacious fire sign, Leo is also known as the sign of the Lion. They take great pride in themselves and their abilities, but with a little bit of darkness that pride can be twisted into arrogance, vanity, and selfishness.
A Leo wouldn't be a Leo if they didn't love to be seen, adored, and celebrated. So we at The Lineup are happy to rise to the occasion.
Are you looking to see where a stereotypical “me, me, me” attitude will land you? Or maybe you just want to tune in for a few dark laughs?
We know what tickles your fancy. Here are six horror movies for Leos to stream tonight!
Pearl
A prequel to Ti West's X, Pearl is set in 1918 as a young woman spirals into madness in pursuit of fame. Desperate to escape the isolation of her parents' farm and the loneliness consuming her with her husband at war, Pearl (Mia Goth) will go to any lengths to feel a sense of belonging and validation.
Leos are creatures of passion, which Pearl undoubtedly is herself, for better or worse. Beyond that, this fire sign loves nothing more than being in the limelight, and this flick proves just how unhinged they can be when they don't get the attention they're after.
Some bloody catharsis might make a Leo feel better if they've been snubbed for a starring role recently…
Bodies Bodies Bodies
A satirical critique of Gen Z college students—or at least how the media perceives them—Bodies Bodies Bodies brings some humor to the slasher genre.
The film follows a group of friends stranded in a lavish house during a storm, entertaining themselves with a party game that quickly turns deadly.
This film embraces two things that bring Leos great joy: time with friends and a good laugh. Of course, it also weaves this sign's greatest weaknesses into the story: a hefty ego and self-absorption.
Whether a Leo wants to take it in as a cautionary tale or have a good laugh at their zodiac stereotype, this film is a really great watch.
American Psycho
Based on the novel of the same name by Bret Easton Ellis, the film follows the exploits of Patrick Bateman (Christian Bale), an investment banker in New York City.
A wealthy and successful executive on the surface, Bateman is hiding a violent, hedonistic, and psychopathic alter ego from those closest to him.
For any Leos feeling a little self-conscious about their signs tendency towards arrogance and vanity, American Psycho should give them some comfort that they're not at the extreme end of the spectrum. Unless, of course, they happen to be yuppie murderers, too.
Gathering this fire sign's love of expensive things, beauty, and being on top, the film is a romp of violence and overindulgence.
Vamps
If you ever sat around wishing that you could find a horror movie that felt like it took a bite out of an irreverent 2000s chick flick, then Vamps is going to make your heart sing.
Party girl vampires Goody (Alicia Silverstone) and Stacey (Krysten Ritter) navigate complicated love and even more complicated natures together in New York City.
Leos will love this movie for its good cheer and rife humor, which adds levity and brightness to a vampiric plot that's usually dark and morose. Usually resistant to change, what could be more appealing to a Leo than vampires who never age?
It
Much darker than the other horror flicks on this list, It is based on the book of the same name by Stephen King. In the summer of 1989, a group of misfit kids in the small town of Derry, Maine come together to kill the shape-shifting monster that is preying on children.
Creativity is a vital aspect of the fire sign of Leo, and the ways in which Pennywise (Bill Skarsgård) exploits fear are highly inventive. Beyond that, a Leo won't be able to resist the theatrical villainy of this killer clown.
Beast
Okay, so maybe this suggestion is a little on the nose, but the list really wouldn't be complete without a little bit of survival horror. In Beast, a father (Idris Elba) and his two daughters visit the South African village of his late wife, only to have to fight for their lives against a rogue lion.
As the sign of the Lion themselves, Leos are obviously going to love seeing the symbol of their power in all its glory.
Leos love being the kings and queens of whatever arena they're in, and a battle to the death against nature's most dangerous apex predator proves just how incredible human strength can be.
