Secure. Contain. Protect.
The SCP Foundation is a secret facility, disembodied from standard governments, that captures and contains various paranormal and mysterious objects, entities, and phenomena known as ‘anomalies’.
What Is An SCP?
The anomalies range from inanimate objects to creatures, to bodies of water and are contained in a secure, undisclosed location or are highly guarded; the anomalies, aka SCP’s, are given a unique identification number and containment class which dictates their level of threat: Safe, Euclid and Keter.
SCPs that are considered ‘safe’ are easily contained and pose little to no threat to human life. Euclid class poses a higher threat to human life and requires higher levels of containment.
Keter class are highly dangerous SCPs that cannot be easily contained and pose a direct and unavoidable threat to human life.
The SCP Foundation is dedicated to capturing, containing, and studying objects and entities that would wreak havoc and destruction upon our world, should there be a failure to securely and within the facility there are SCP’s that are made from pure nightmare fuel.
Here we present the top 10 scariest SCP’s…
10. SCP 1048
Containment Class: KETER
What at first may seem like a strange object to have in such a facility, SCP 1048 is not to be taken lightly.
he SCP in question is a small teddy bear roughly 33cm in height, that when studied, did not produce any ‘unusual qualities’ that differentiate it from a standard teddy bear.
The bear can communicate using simple gestures and shows affection to those it interacts with, such as a hug to the lower leg.
Seven months after containment, the teddy bear was observed to use its ‘endearing’ qualities to lull people into a false sense of security, so it is able to collect materials and replicate itself.
There are three known duplicates of SCP 1048, and each of these has shown extreme violent behavior towards humans.
On [date redacted] SCP 1048 was seen wandering site 24 with a replica of itself (SCP 1048 A) made entirely out of human ears.
“This is not a joke. We have no idea what SCP-1048's full capabilities are. Who knows how many of the damn things are out there by now?” - Dr. Carver
The security team ascended on site 24 to attempt to recapture the SCPs, but when surrounded SCP 1048-A let out a high-pitched scream, a scream so intense it caused severe pain in the eyes and ears of anyone within a 10m radius.
Every person within that 10m radius died within three minutes and an autopsy revealed an abundance of ‘ear-like’ growths within the victim's mouth and throat.
Other attempts have been made to contain the other duplicates of SCP 1048 but all have been unsuccessful with a high death rate—including a female researcher who encountered SCP 1048-B and witnessed the arm and a hand of a dismembered infant burst from its chest.
Three hours after the incident Dr [redacted] was found bleeding to death in her office, and it was revealed that an abortion had been performed on her as she slept.
According to the case file, SCP 1048's whereabouts are still unknown.
9. SCP 106
Containment Class: KETER
SCP 106 is described as an ‘elderly humanoid’ in an advanced state of decomposition.
Physical contact with SCP 106 is never allowed due to its ability to corrode any material it comes into contact with, including metal, and human tissue, which is believed to be a ‘pre-digesting’ technique.
The ‘humanoid’ is contained within a ‘sealed container comprised of lead-lined steel’ and has an extra 40 layers of containment wall separated by roughly 36cm of empty space and the container is suspended by roughly 60cm from the ground.
Secondary containment is comprised of 16 round cells filled with varying fluids and is to be fitted with a light system with no less than 80,000 lumens of light (1000 watts)—the area is to remain under surveillance 24 hours a day.
SCP 106 tends to remain motionless, sometimes for numerous days, waiting for prey. However, it is capable of climbing vertical surfaces and can hang upside down without a fixed time limit.
When SCP 106 attacks its prey, it aims for its victim's vital organs and seems to prefer human prey usually between the ages of 10 to 25.
8. SCP 439
Containment Class: EUCLID
SCP 439 is an insect, similar to that of a common earwig and as of yet, has no known origin and is roughly 2.5cm in length.
SCP 439 is described as a ‘hazard’ to only sleeping humans due to its ‘habitat construction and reproduction’ process.
The insect, when it has found its host, will enter into the mouth of a sleeping human and travel down the trachea and into one of the lungs.
The victim, around four to eight hours after awakening, will begin to complain of chest pains and abdominal cramping, complete with a fever.
The victim will begin to show signs of FOP (Fibrodysplasia Ossificans Progressiva), a genetic condition that causes muscle, tissue, and tendons to turn into bone. The process is abnormally quick, causing severe pain in the victim, with bone ripping its way through their flesh.
The final stage of the transformation is when the victim is transformed into a ‘bone hive’. The body at this point will have retreated into the fetal position and the skeletal structure will shift until the victim is now spherical with new bone mass that will jut out to anchor the structure to the ground.
Within this ‘bone hive’ the ‘queen’ insect that entered the ‘host’ will have produced around 20 to 30,000 offspring.
7. SCP 323
Containment Class: EUCLID
SCP 323 is an ‘unidentified cervid skull’, equipped with antlers; the rear of the skull has in it a 25x25 cm oval gap.
SCP 323 seems to have the ability to react to visual stimuli, and has a field of vision similar to that of most deer. It has also been shown to show incredible hostility to anyone who speaks French or English languages in its presence.
SCP 323 can affect an individual within a radius of roughly 15m. Those within this radius will experience cannibalistic thoughts, and violent outbursts.
Around 74% of individuals who are exposed to SCP 323 for around 60 minutes will attempt to wear the skull and if they cannot fit it over their heads, they will bludgeon their heads against a hard surface until the skull fits.
Within ten minutes of wearing SCP 323, the individual will experience a myriad of ‘physical alterations’ such as rapid weight loss, hair loss, abnormal tooth growth, and blackening of extremities that are similar to that of frostbite.
Wearing the skull also turns the victim into a hostile, cannibalistic creature who will seek out human flesh.
6. SCP 1562
Containment Class: SAFE
SCP 1562 is a playground slide of metal material that measures 2.2 meters high and 3.4 meters long.
he slide was collected from an abandoned playground after several children in the same area of [redacted] went missing.
The anomaly is considered safe unless you are to travel down the slide head first, on your front, with your arms tucked by your sides—sliding down the slide in any other variation does not affect the slider.
When a person slides head first, belly up, they disappear roughly 15cm before they reach the end of the slide.
Currently, no one who has slid down the slide in this manner has ever been recovered.
Attempts to attach a bungee line or tether have been severed upon the person's disappearance. However, radio contact is still possible.
There are a few available audio files of such people who have disappeared and they described themselves being stuck in a small, dark tunnel, too small to move.
One victim did manage to wedge himself forward a few inches and bumped into the shoes of a small child.
No one who has disappeared on the slide has ever been recovered.
5. SCP 965
Containment Class: EUCLID
SCP 965 is an anomaly that appears within the glass of a framed window.
The anomaly is that of a ‘pale-skinned’ face that looks through the window. The face will only appear in fully assembled window frames, but the frame does not need to be installed.
The manifestation of the ‘pale face’ is reported to cause feelings of unease, nervousness, and paranoia. If an individual is sleeping within an area visible to SCP 965 upon manifestation they will suffer disturbing dreams.
If repeatedly exposed to the face, whose smile grows more intense, individuals will begin to complain of abdominal pain and will often vomit blood caused by ulcers that have formed within the stomach.
Anyone who advances to this stage will also start to see the face within their peripheral vision.
When an individual is removed from the immediate area they will still experience the facial manifestations, nightmares and even see the face in a waking state in their peripheral vision.
4. SCP 096
Containment Class: EUCLID
SCP 096 is a human-like creature that stands over seven feet tall. The creature has very little muscle mass with long, gangly arms that reach around 1.5 meters each in length.
The subject has no body hair, and its skin is void of any pigmentation. Its jaw can open up to four times the width of a standard human.
The SCP in question is usually quiet and calm. However, if anyone is to see SCP 096’s face— including a photograph—the creature enters a state of extreme emotional distress.
Within one to two minutes of the creature's face being viewed, the creature will sprint towards the individual and is said to be able to run up to speeds of 35 km/h (21 miles per hour).
Once SCP 096 has reached its target, it will slaughter and [redacted] the individual. In 100% of cases, no traces of its victims are ever found.
3. SCP 049
Containment Class: EUCLID
SCP-049 is a ‘humanoid entity’ that resembles a medieval plague doctor.
The entity's garments, including its ‘beak’ are not clothes or a mask. Instead, the robes and the mask are a part of the subject's body.
SCP 049 can speak in various languages and is generally cooperative and talkative with staff personnel. However, it can become irritated and violent if it believes it is in the presence of ‘pestilence’.
If the ‘pestilence’ ridden subject is not removed quickly, SCP 049 will kill them, alluding that they have killed the subject to kill ‘the pestilence’.
However, SCP 049 will try to perform ‘crude surgery’ on the corpse, which will often result in re-animated corpses that have limited mobility skills but can become violent if provoked.
2. SCP 2316
Containment Class: KETER
“I DO NOT RECOGNIZE THE BODIES IN THE WATER”
SCP 2316 is a body of water that exists within Lake [redacted].
The closer an individual gets to the body of water, floating corpses begin to come into view, which is why the individual must repeat the phrase “I DO NOT RECOGNIZE THE BODIES IN THE WATER”.
If the statement is not repeated and the subject continues to view and enclose on the body of water, they will begin to see the bodies as their friends and family, and in a desperate attempt to rescue them, will enter the water.
No one who has ever entered the water has been retrieved.
You do not recognize the bodies in the water.
1. SCP 173
Containment Class: EUCLID
SCP 173 is a creature made from concrete and rebar and is extremely hostile.
The object is unable to move if it is within a direct line of sight. The line of sight must NOT be broken at any time, including blinking.
If any of the personnel is about to blink, they must inform the other personnel within the containment area. Three personnel are assigned to enter SCP 173’s containment area at any one time for bi-weekly cleaning due to a mixture of blood and feces that the object produces.
If the line of sight is broken, the object will attack. It will snap the individual's neck at the base of the skull, or it will strangle its victims to death.
