Jeffrey Dahmer is one of the most brutal serial killers in recent history. His crimes were so twisted that the mind struggles to make sense of the depravity. Soon, viewers will get a chance to hear Dahmer’s own words on his murder spree.

On November 11, Dahmer on Dahmer: A Serial Killer Speaks premieres on Oxygen. The two-night special offers an unprecedented look at the serial murder case that shocked the nation.

Dahmer was arrested in 1991 after his intended 18th murder victim managed to escape and flag down the police. When officers accompanied the man back to Dahmer’s building, they found a truly disturbing scene. Hidden inside a dresser drawer were grisly Polaroid pictures of many of Dahmer’s previous victims. Severed heads were found in the kitchen and body parts were stuffed inside the refrigerator. When officers arrested Dahmer, he said, “For what I did, I should be dead.”

Just what drove this quiet, young man from Ohio to commit such gruesome acts has fascinated the public for years. Not only will Dahmer on Dahmer include interviews with law enforcement, two surviving Dahmer victims, and Dahmer’s father and stepmother, the special also includes archival interviews with the killer himself.

Check out the trailer for the sure-to-be chilling special—and stick around to the end to hear a bit of Dahmer’s own explanations of his crimes. It gave us goosebumps. After all, “things like that don’t stay buried forever.”

Dahmer on Dahmer: A Serial Killer Speaks Part 1 premieres Saturday, November 11 at 7 P.M. ET/PT. Part 2 airs on November 12 at 7 P.M. ET/PT.
