The Dead Files
This show not only investigates paranormal activity, but sets out to prove the existence of ghosts through a two-pronged approach. On one hand, psychic medium Amy Allan communicates with the restless spirits left behind. On the other hand, former NYPD homicide detective Steve DiSchiavi investigates each location, gathering evidence of crimes to compare to the reports given to Amy by the dead.

A personal favorite of mine when I was a teen, this series follows the investigations of the Penn State Paranormal Research Society. Helmed by Ryan Buell, this series also features familiar faces who appear in series later on this list, like Chip Coffey (Kindred Spirits) and Katrina Weidman (Paranormal Lockdown).
