The Eerie New “Twin Peaks” Trailer is Here

"I will see you again in 25 years."

Pour yourself a cup of coffee and get ready to return to Twin Peaks.

A new trailer for the hotly anticipated 2017 Twin Peaks revival was just released:

In true Lynch-ian form, it’s both bizarre and totally compelling. The composer of the iconic theme song, Angelo Badalamenti, is shown playing the aforementioned piece on the piano, superimposed against a wooded backdrop. Towards the end, Laura Palmer’s image appears, followed by the text “Twin Peaks,” then, “Coming in 2017.”

We know little about the mysterious upcoming season, other than that it takes place 25 years after Laura’s murder, and that most of the original cast will be back for one or more episodes. Returning actors include Kyle MacLachlan as Agent Cooper, Sheryl Lee as Laura Palmer, Mådchen Amick as Shelly, Dana Ashbrook as Bobby, Everett McGill as Big Ed, Kimmy Robertson as Lucy, Russ Tamblyn as Dr. Jacoby, Ray Wise as Leland Palmer, Grace Zabriskie as Sarah Palmer, Robert Forster as Sheriff Truman, Sherilyn Fenn as Audrey Horn, Peggy Lipton as Norma, and more.

Additionally many big name stars are set to appear: Naomi Watts, Amanda Seyfried, Ashley Judd, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Laura Dern, Michael Cera, Jessica Szohr, Jim Belushi, Monica Bellucci, Sara Paxton, and Eddie Vedder are just a few.

So: what do you think? Are you excited for the third season? Is BOB now/still possessing Coop, as the season 2 finale terrifyingly suggested? Let us know in the comments.

“Twin Peaks” premieres on May 21, 2017 at 9 PM EST on Showtime.
