Some—if not most—of you are probably asking the big question: what on earth is mumblegore? In the simplest terms, its a bloody twist on the niche genre of mumblecore.
Mumble core movies are low-budget by nature. These independent films (usually American) don't get heavy-handed with the plot, preferring to take a more naturalistic and slice-of-life approach.
In these films you'll often see improvised dialogue and amateur or lesser-known actors. The connection between those on screen are meant to be raw, intense, and deeply intimate.
This genre was at the top of its game from about 2007 to 2016, and really found its stride in the horror sphere. So, naturally, mumblecore split off and evolved into the cheekily named mumblegore.
So if you want to feel like you're intruding on the most horrific moments of a stranger's life, here are eight mumblegore movies for a night of terror.
