Insidious has been one of the best horror franchises of the 2010s. Some of filmmaker James Wan’s best work can be found in the franchise—especially the first installment, which Wan made independently to avoid studio interference.
The result was 2010's Insidious, one of the creepiest child possession/haunted house movies of the decade. The horror movie has since spawned one sequel, 2013's Insidious: Chapter 2, and one prequel, 2015's Insidious: Chapter 3. The trailer for the next installment—also a prequel—just hit the web.
Insidious: The Last Key will focus on demonologist Elise Reiner, who has appeared in all previous Insidious films. The trailer promises some horribly creepy fare centered on the keys of the title.
When Reiner returns home to New Mexico, she discovers that her home has become infested with spirits from the astral plane. There’s some truly disturbing things just in this trailer—including a woman’s voice box being ‘locked’ to prevent her screaming.
The first look at this final Insidious tale had us squirming in our seats. Check it out below.
