Before Charlie Brooker unnerved us with his bleak, futuristic visions in Black Mirror, he terrified viewers with flesh-eating ghouls descending on a reality show. Dead Set takes place on the set of Big Brother and is streaming now on Netflix for your gory viewing pleasure.

The five-episode series breathes new life into the undead genre with its refreshing twist: A zombie outbreak has hit the UK, and the sealed-in crew and contestants of Big Brother are some of England's last remaining survivors. Initially, the contestants are oblivious to the horror outside their door; they're still performing for the cameras, and wondering why Big Brother seems to be ignoring them. Soon, however, the ghoulish reality sinks in. Now the reality stars must fight to survive, or join the flesh-eating horde.
Actual former Big Brother stars have cameos in the series, while main cast members are played by actors, including Riz Ahmed (Rogue One, The Night Of), Elyes Gabel (Scorpion, Game of Thrones), and Jaime Winstone.
Funny, grim, and terrifying, Dead Set is sure to thrill any horror lover. Brooker says his inspiration came from Dawn of the Dead, and, as with any Brooker production, you can expect social commentary mixed in with the terror.
