All of us here have been anxiously awaiting the fourth season of Black Mirror. Some of us have been checking Netflix since burning through all of season three in October 2016. What can we say? We’re bingers.
Netflix confirmed earlier this year that we could all look forward to seeing Black Mirror back on our computer screens in 2017. Yet months went by, and no release date was announced. Show creator Charlie Brooker kept his lips sealed, and fans grew restless. The fact that season 4 could be the last season of the futuristic horror series only compounded our concerns. People began to speculate the show wouldn’t return until 2018.
Then, in late November, Netflix began releasing trailers for each episode. Our antennae went up. On December 6, they finally released an official trailer for the entire season along with a release date: December 29.
That's right. Get ready to revisit the bleak universe of Black Mirror by month's end, just in time for a post-holiday wind down.

The trailer, eerily scored with Louis Armstrong’s “What a Wonderful World”, promises just as much terror as previous seasons. Trailers for each of the six upcoming episodes have also been released. Check out the season trailer, below, while you wait.
We’re especially intrigued by the Star Trek themed episode, “USS Callister”. The trailer for this one scans as a cheesy space opera, without the clear hints of darkness found in the other trailers. The twist behind this episode must be especially brutal. Check out that, and the other episode trailers, below.
Black Mirror returns December 29, 2017 on Netflix.
