In the Deadline announcement Aster and Knudsen were quoted saying they are “excited to team up with A24 on what will be our first venture into TV after having worked on several films together. We pride ourselves on being a home for artists, weirdos and freaks, enabling them to realize their visions without compromise.” A24 provided a quote of their own to Deadline saying "It’s great to be re-teaming with Square Peg on their entrée into television. With their track record of distinct, provocative storytelling we are certain that TV will never be the same again.”

Aster and Knudsen formed their production company Square Peg in 2019 and have since brought on Emily Hildner to serve as Head of TV. Hildner brings with her a vast amount of experience gleaned from working on projects with Animal Kingdom, HBO, Hulu, and FX.

In addition to the newly announced TV deal, Aster and Knudsen's Square Peg is currently in pre-production for their next film, Disappointment Blvd., which stars Joaquin Phoenix.
