Tonight’s Episode of “American Horror Story” Will Blow Your Mind

The biggest twist in the series' history is about to unfold.

AHS fans: it’s going down tonight.

Yes, we’ve finally arrived at the sixth episode of the sixth season, the episode which Ryan Murphy famously told Entertainment Weekly, is “…the biggest plot twist we’ve ever done on the show.”

“This season has been all about redoing the narrative of what we’ve always done,” said Murphy in an interview with E! “I think it’s always been a sort of straight-forward version of storytelling. And what happened with this season, which is really broken into two halves, one through five, which everybody has hopefully seen, and then six through 10. And it’s a completely different show. It’s a completely different narrative form. Things that you thought to be true about people are revealed to not be true. And it was exciting to work on, because it was like working on two shows at once. The big twist of episode six takes you into a complete other world.”

We already know, from last week’s trailer, that we’re going behind the scenes with the crew that’s been filming My Roanoke Nightmare, the documentary within the show. We heard actor Cheyenne Jackson, playing a producer, telling his crew not to turn off the cameras “no matter what he says.” Watch below:

So: what else do we know? Quite a bit, actually, and some of it downright shocking. Ryan Murphy just spilled the beans big time, revealing which characters from previous seasons will pop up in the current one, what themes we can expect to see in later seasons, and much more:

1. Taissa Farmiga and Finn Wittrock will both return to AHS this season. Farmiga previously appeared in Murder House and Coven; Wittrock in Freak Show and Hotel. Apparently, Wittrock will be playing “the most f-ked-up character of all time.”

2. Sarah Paulson, Kathy Bates and Evan Peters will all be playing new characters for the second half of the season.

3. Lady Gaga’s crazy wood witch is actually the original Grand Supreme (!!!), harking back to the major season three plot point.

4. Next season will return to the mythology of season four, Freak Show, with the specific theme being announced in the spring. Murphy also plans to re-explore the third season, Coven, further down the line. Hopefully this means Gaga, as the original GS, will continue to appear on the show, or at least be back for the “return-to-Coven” season. Does this also mean we might get Jessica Lange back? We can dream.

What do you think? Are you ready for tonight’s curveball? As always, let us know your thoughts in the comments.
