Ian Rogers has achieved every writer's ultimate dream. His short story, "The House on Ashley Avenue," included in his 2012 anthology Every House is Haunted, is the source material for a feature horror film for Netflix.

Horror legend Sam Raimi, who is most known for his work on The Evil Dead franchise, is set to produce the film, and Corin Hardy (The Nun) will direct.

Every House is Haunted will center on an insurance investigator looking into a claim that a couple's death was due to time spent living in a haunted house. Ian Roger's short story, "The House on Ashley Avenue," was optioned by Starlight to be used as the basis of the film. In perfectly spooky symbiosis, the story was a finalist for the Shirley Jackson Award after its initial publication in 2012.

According Deadline, the film was shopped around within the industry the last week of March 2021, and Netflix came in as the top bid to greenlight the project. The script for the film is written by Jason Pagan and Andrew Deutschman, who previously collaborated on Paranormal Activity: The Ghost Dimension.

At the time of this post, no information has been provided as to the film's cast, or release date, but we'll update with that info once we have it.
